  To clear the confusion, the main plot started after the volume 1. The latter only depicts the everyday lives of the MCs, and the foreshadowing of the main plot and the horrors of the cosmic beings. So, you really need to be patient. Especially about the word count, I didn't consider it and made it too long so you'll got 16 to 21 pages from me. I'm sorry that I make it like this.
